Portugal numa Europa que se quer Multilingue

Este estudo procura traçar um panorama do conhecimento de línguas estrangeiras ao longo da vida e apresenta estatísticas sobre a aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras na Europa desde o ensino básico até ao secundário, nomeadamente através da análise de dados disponibilizados no site do Eurostat e recolhidos por este gabinete no Adult Education Survey (AES). Dando ênfase à especificidade do caso português no contexto das iniciativas políticas europeias, apresentamos ainda uma síntese dos factores que podem influenciar a aprendizagem de uma língua estrangeira. This study presents the framework of the knowledge of foreign languages of the adult population and it presents the statistics about language learning in Europe form early learning to the end of High school, namely through the analysis of EUROSTAT data and collected in the Adult Education Survey (AES). Special emphasis is given to the portuguese case in the context of european political initiatives and we present also a synthesis of the factors that can influence the knowledge of a foreign language.
