The agri-food and other bio-based sectors in Spain. A description based on multiplier analysis
This paper proposes the multiplier analysis of Social Accounting Matrices (SAM) for Spain with a highly disaggregated agricultural sector (AgroSAMs) for the year 2000. The methodology adopted allows individuating backward, forward linkages, key sector and employment multipliers of the Spanish agri-food and other bio-based sectors. This analysis helps to better understanding the agri-food and other bio-based sectors' economic linkages. The paper highlights that no primary agricultural sector emerges as key for the Spanish economy while livestock and related products present the highest backward linkages within the extended agri-food sectors.
