Spatial Data Infrastructures for Spatial Planning Research
Given the increasing influence of environmental legislation on spatial planning, the planning practitioner and researcher needs to master an increasing volume of data and information coming from multiple sources and disciplines in the social and environmental sciences. This chapter introduces the concepts of spatial data infrastructures that are increasingly available to support the work of planners and researchers, and address the complex interactions between society and the environment.
