Science Communication for the Media

cover
This booklet is the reader for the lectures Alun Lewis, of Royal Holloway University of London has carried out in Ispra during seven consecutive years in a course organised by the Joint Research Centre called “Science Communication for Public Engagement” (2006-2013). The skills learnt through these lectures can help with, not only popularisation of science activities, but also with many other forms of interaction between the scientific researcher and other spheres of operation where science is a relevant input. Including ethical discussions about science and technology developments, policy making involving science and technology, and in other non-specialist public engagement in science and technology settings. The ultimate aim of these exercises is to improve empowerment and agency of our society.
