NEPAD Southern African Water Centres of Excellence - Joint training course on sustainable water resources management in Southern Africa
Within the framework of the EC support project to the Water Centres of Excellence one the project’s tasks was to improve water sector knowledge development and management in the region; consequently the CoEs were requested to develop relevant educational material in the form of academic training courses. Within the Southern African Network, the exercise of producing training material was based on earlier consultations and studies from a report on Knowledge Management and a Skills and Trainings Needs Assessment study. The result was a short list of training priorities, which finally resulted in the development of 3 Master’s degree-level courses, namely: Ground water studies for Southern Africa; Water strategy and policy in Southern Africa; Equitable, efficient and sustainable management of water resources – water project toolkit application
