Agriculture et alimentation : des défis majeurs pour le Maroc et l'espace Euro-Méditerranéen
This paper focuses on the main agricultural and food challenges facing by Morocco in the context of a deeper economic integration with the European Union. Trade liberalisation including the removal of non-tariff measures could enhance food security and counteracts rising food prices. Increasing agricultural productivity, reducing losses and waste in food production, storage and handling could be considered as important steps to moderate the dependence on world food markets, and improve food and nutrition situation of households in Morocco. Such a strategy requires substantial investments in research and development, technology transfer and innovation.
