Abstract: A 14 Cr powder metallurgically manufactured oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) steel, manufactured and characterized for the GETMAT project, has been tested for creep properties with uniaxial tests and the small punch miniature testing method. The creep rupture and strain properties are analyzed from both test types and compared. The material shows very poor creep ductility and the objective of the assessment is to catch the limits of material applicability. A comparison of small punch and uniaxial creep tests at 650 °C show strong anisotropy of the material when strained parallel and perpendicular to the extrusion direction. The rupture times show considerable scatter. The fracture surfaces and microstructure of the ODS is presented together with conclusions regarding the material usage.
