dc.description.abstractPlot level data of the country-wide database developed using the Agrochemical Information and Management System (AIIR) were used to examine the impact of the soil phosphorus supply on maize yield on two different production sites (chernozem and brown forest soil) in different crop years (favourable and unfavourable). There were significant differences in the correlation of maize yield and phosphorus supply in both production sites between the two crop years. It can be seen in the analysis that higher phosphorus supply does not have any yield increasing effect on chernozem soil in a favourable crop year, it is worth fertilising brown forest soils to obtain medium nutrient supply to crops so that significant yield increase can be obtained. In unfavourable crop years, the increasing phosphorus supply of the soil causes yield depression in both production sites, with chernozem soils showing the most apparent and drastic yield decrease. It can be concluded that chernozem and brown forest soils should not be filled up with phosphorus more than medium supply, as they are able to provide satisfactory production and stable yield, taking crop year risk into consideration.en_GB
