Dynamic context evaluation of human actions in severe accident analysis and management

cover
The severe accident progress in a very uncertain and highly stressful context for the decision-makers. The implementation of the severe accident management (SAM) measures requires an appropriate informative design for representation of contemporary engineering safety features and consistent models of human performance. SAM for the specific scenario includes some operators' actions as alternative measures to mitigate, delay or distributes accident consequences. These SAM alternatives are described in emergency op-erating procedures (EOP) and SAM guidelines (SAMG) and could be optimized by interaction of determinis-tic and probabilistic safety analyses. The paper presents the capacities of the Performance Evaluation of Teamwork procedure for dynamic context quantification and determination of alternatives, coordination and monitoring of human performance and decision-making. The procedure is exemplified for seven station blackout (SBO) scenarios of the NPP with WWER-1000 based on thermal-hydraulic simulations with differ-ent codes and models: ATHLET/Mod1.2/2.2, RELAP5/MOD3.2, MELCOR 1.8.5, and ASTEC V1.3/V2.
