Global Conflict Risk Index - Handbook for Data and Statistical Analysis. Data management, imputation methods and code documentation (R package)
Following the principles of openness and transparency, the Global Conflict Risk Index (GCRI) relies on open source data provided by well-known international organisations and institutes. Publishing the procedures for reproducing the model is an important step that renders the process accessible. The purpose of this publication is to provide some insight into the different transformation methods applied to the data in order to build the Global Conflict Risk Model. The intention behind this document is to constitute a comprehensive step-by-step guide that ensures transparency and facilitates the replication tasks. Therefore, this report covers the whole data processing from its gathering to the model output. This document comes as a complement to the Concept and Methodology Report, which provides thorough information about the reasoning that drove the selection of the indicators, definitions on the scope and characteristics of conflict and further information on the regression and logarithmic models.
