Construction criteria, energy efficiency, indoor air quality and health effects in modern office buildings in Europe
Health effects in modern office buildings in Europe are the interplay with construction criteria, energy efficiency, ventilation and indoor air quality. This presentation outlines the key advancements and future challenges concerning recently undertaken important initiatives and actions at both, scientific/technical and policy levels in Europe. The conception, development and implementation of new methodological approaches and techniques for a better understanding of factors affecting the indoor environment in modern office buildings while meeting the stringent energy saving and efficiency targets in Europe is expected to substantially contribute to a healthier life at work for office building occupants and also to help steering EU policies towards the better protection of office workers.
