It is estimated that in EU-27 countries in 2020, lung cancer accounted for 11.9% of all new cancer diagnoses and 20.4% of all deaths due to cancer. That made it the fourth most frequently occurring cancer (after prostate, breast, and colorectal cancers) and the leading cause of cancer death.
