Overall favourable conditions in most of Europe
In most parts of western, northern, and northern central Europe, weather conditions during the review period (1 March - 18 April) were adequate for winter crop development, and allowed good progress with spring sowings and other field operations. As it is still early in the season, crop yield forecasts for these regions were maintained in the light of historical trends. Several parts of southern and southern central Europe, experienced unfavourable weather conditions, which result in an overall slight downward revision of the yield forecasts for winter crops.
