Photovoltaics in 2021

Since its inception in 1977 the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC) has played a part in the success story that photovoltaics is today. Photovoltaic technology is now expected to be one of the key elements of a future sustainable energy system. As outlined in the IEA’s recent flagship report Net Zero by 2050 - A Roadmap for the Global Energy Sector which provides a comprehensive study of how to transition to a net zero energy system by 2050, this will result in a clean, dynamic and resilient energy economy dominated by renewables like solar and wind instead of fossil fuels.
