EU citizens strongly value Rule of Law
• EBS 508 shows that EU citizens strongly support EU values on rule of law.
• Large majorities in all MS support equal legal treatment, fair trials, an independent judiciary and freedom of thought, expression and religion and variation between MS is limited.
• Differences across socio-economic groups are small, and among all surveyed categories a clear majority agrees with all three RoL related statements.
• Those prioritising the personal value of Power are less likely to support the principles of Rule of Law.
