Tracking Europeans' Interest in EC Priorities Using Online Search Data
With an aim to fast-forward the digitalisation processes across the European Union, between February 2020 and March 2021, the European Commission adopted the Communication Shaping Europe’s digital future and the Communication 2030 Digital Compass: the European way for the Digital Decade. These two documents provide a vision and clear objectives to support the priority ‘A Europe fit for the digital age’.
By looking at online searches data on topics related to digital infrastructures, skills and entertainment, the European Commission's Joint Research Centre developed a set of indicators to explore how and how much Europeans search for topics related to the objectives and vision of the priority ‘A Europe fit for the digital age’.
