This policy brief presents insights and data that were used to support the Clean Energy Competitiveness Progress Report accompanying the State of the Energy Union 2023. The brief presents EU employment trends in the clean energy sector focusing on the recent trends such as cyclical and structural labour shortages. This is followed by presenting the changes in the labour market and how they relate to the energy transition and what implications this has on the up- and re-skilling needs.
