Climate change adaptation for the built environment: developments and needs for structural design standards
This report explores climate change adaptation for the built environment. It discusses policy background, standardisation needs, and advanced methodologies for elaboration of maps for climatic actions, as well as harmonising climate data and fortifying design standards. The report also presents case studies and applications to support the implementation of the second-generation Eurocodes and highlights the successful integration of climate models and climate-informed scenarios for wildfire resilience in the wildland-urban interface. Ultimately, it outlines priorities for research and action to enhance climate resilience in the built environment, supporting a sustainable and climate-adapted future for the European built environment.
