The Low-temperature Heat Capacity and Entropy of SrZrO3 and BaZrO3
The heat capacity of the perovskites SrZrO3 and BaZrO3 have been measured in the
temperature range (1.8 to 305) K. The results have been compared to previous measurements reported in literature in the (50 to 300) K range. Our results for SrZrO3
are in excellent agreement with literature in spite of different crystal structure of
the samples, those for BaZrO3 are somewhat higher. The experimental data suggest
a significantly lower heat capacity below 50 K than the extrapolation reported in
literature and thus yield more accurate values for the standard entropies.
