Comparación de las Técnicas de Ensayo en Mesa Vibrante y Pseudo-Dinámica en el Proyecto NEFOREEE

2007Scientific articles and academic literatureSafety and security
In this work, as a part of the Neforeee project, possible pros and cons between shaking tables and the pseudo-dynamic (PsD) method used in major laboratories for seismic studies are outlined and the circumstances that allow a comparison of the results are determined.
Starting from a test made by the Technical University of Athens on a prototype structure using a shaking table, similar PsD tests were carried out by ELSA laboratory in Ispra, Italy. The tests are classified into two groups: PsD, to determine condition that leads to same resultsand to compare them with those from Athens; and dynamic, to determine the accuracy of the system used on this study.
The comparison of pseudo-dynamic tests results with those from Athens showed a very close match, on both time and frequency domain, but only after adding the spurious pitch of the shaking table as additional excitation.
