Testing agreement of isotopic abundance measurements while taking account of acceptable bias
ABSTRACT: This report describes the use of non-central chi-squared tests for verifying agreement between two measurements of isotopic abundances. The proposed tests take account of acceptable bias through different forms of multivariate composite null hypotheses. The testing threshold is chosen by fixing the maximum false alarm rate that is to be tolerated. The report also discusses the use of confidence intervals for the establishment of null hypotheses by means of characterizing measurements made under null hypothesis conditions.
